July 12, 2009 – It has been a while since I’ve watch the games and more than a year since I held an oar and paddled until all my energy is drained. The thing is I’ve already given all reasons to all those who asked why I stopped paddling. All of them are valid, from having to finish my graduate studies to career movements. It really is busy for me and waking up at 4 am to catch the early training boat is the last thing I would want to worry about. It was a conscious decision to stop for a while and hopefully be back on track again once the chaos of things settles down.
In my one year of absence lots of things has changed, my former team Aqua Fortis is now separated into two teams. The men’s team retained the name Aqua Fortis and the majority of the women’s team created the Tritons team. I don’t know the whole story though, but whatever was decided during those times maybe splitting up was the most beneficial to everyone. » Read the rest of this entry «
The best part of working for a foreign company, perhaps, is the perk of going outside the country where you won’t be spending anything (except for pasalubong). Where from the hotel accomodation, transportation allowance and per diem (these I love the best!) are given to me just to spend for almost anything I’d be needing. But of course, I am not there for a leisure trip. I work my ass there 9-10 hours a day plus the 2 to 3 hours of drinking with different japanese office mates whose names would be forgotten after I drank my first bottle of beer. » Read the rest of this entry «
